LA Big 5K FAQs

When and where is the event?

The 2024 LA Big 5K is March 16, 2024. The LA BIG 5K starts and finishes at the world-famous Dodger Stadium. The 5K course runs through scenic Elysian Park with breathtaking views of Downtown Los Angeles.

When and where do I pick up my event race bib?

Bib pick-up will be available at the Health & Fitness Expo on Friday, March 17, 10am - 7pm at Dodger Stadium and on race morning starting at 6:30am at Dodger Stadium.

If I plan to bring my children to walk the course, do they also need to register?

Yes, anyone participating in the LA BIG 5K needs to be registered and have a race bib. Children in strollers do not need to register for the event but they will not be able to collect a medal at the Finish Line.

How can I make a change to my registration information (i.e. misspelling, address, e-mail, T-shirt size)?

E-mail solutions@mccourtfoundation.org with “Change of Information" in the subject line or call us at 213-542-3000 and a member of our staff will assist you.

What is the distance of the course?

The course is 5 kilometers, or approximately 3.1 miles.

Is there a time limit for the course?

Yes. Streets reopen to vehicular traffic on a rolling basis approximately a 30 minute per mile pace. Participants still on the course at this time will be required to move to the sidewalks and obey all traffic signals. The Finish Line will close 2 hours after the start of the race. Please note that participants who cross the Finish Line after 2:00:00 will not be recognized as Official Finishers and are not guaranteed a medal or a finishing time.

Are there overall awards?

Yes!

1st Place Men & Women $250 BIG 5 Sporting Goods gift card each
2nd Place Men & Women $125 BIG 5 Sporting Goods gift card each

The top 2 Men and Women for all 15 Age Divisions:
1st Place Men & Women $50 BIG 5 Sporting Goods gift card each
2nd Place Men & Women $25 BIG 5 Sporting Goods gift card each

Participants will compete in the following male and female age divisions:
Under 15, 16-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70-74, 75-79, 80 and over

Where do I wear my bib?

Bibs must be fastened to the front of your body on either your shirt or shorts/pants using the provided safety pins.

When and where can I see my race results?

You can find results on our Results page.

Where do I park on race day?

Free parking is available at Dodger Stadium using Entrance E.

Will there be food/drinks available on the course? At the finish line?

There will be one aid station at the midpoint of the course. Water will be available at the Finish Line and other post-race refreshments will be available at the Finish Festival.

Are skates, bikes, or pets allowed on the course?

No skates, bikes or pets are allowed on the course.

What is your refund policy?

Entry fees are non-refundable and non-transferable. No exceptions.

What safety protools will be taken/implemented?

All participants at the LA Big 5K are encouraged to wear a facial covering at the Start of the race. Facial coverings are not required while running or participating. You can find more about our full health and safety plan on the LA Marathon page.
