LA Big 5K FAQs
Are you able to complete the event virtually if you choose to?
All events, the RB5K, the RBH, the LAbig5K and the LAM have the option for athletes who have already registered to choose to run the events virtually.
Please email firstname.lastname@example.org with your full registered name and registered email address, letting us know you want to switch from our in-person LABig5K to our Virtual LABig5K. Deadline to transfer your in-person registration to the virtual registration will be on December 18, 2020 at 11:59pm PST.
What is the deadline to complete my race virtually?
You will have the option to run the 5K distance from May 1 - 31, 2021. The deadline to submit your time is Monday, May 31, 2021 at 11:59pm PST.
Where is the event?
The LA BIG 5K starts and finishes at the world-famous Dodger Stadium. The 5K course runs through scenic Elysian Park with breathtaking views of Downtown Los Angeles.
When does race registration close?
Registration will be available online until the race reaches capacity.
When and where do I pick up my event race bib?
Bib pick-up will be available at the Health & Fitness Expo on Friday, March 19th at the Los Angeles Convention Center and on race day at Dodger Stadium. Hours and additional details will be released at a later date.
If I plan to bring my children to walk the course, do they also need to register?
Yes, anyone participating in the LA BIG 5K needs to be registered and have a race bib. Children in strollers do not need to register for the event but they will not be able to collect a medal at the Finish Line.
How can I make a change to my registration information (i.e. misspelling, address, e-mail, T-shirt size)?

What is the distance of the course?
The course is 5 kilometers, or approximately 3.1 miles.
Is there a time limit for the course?
Yes. Streets reopen to vehicular traffic on a rolling basis approximately a 30 minute per mile pace. Participants still on the course at this time will be required to move to the sidewalks and obey all traffic signals. The Finish Line will close 2 hours after the start of the race. Please note that participants who cross the Finish Line after 2:00:00 will not be recognized as Official Finishers and are not guaranteed a medal or a finishing time.

1st Place Men & Women $250 BIG 5 Sporting Goods gift card each
2nd Place Men & Women $125 BIG 5 Sporting Goods gift card each
The top 2 Men and Women for all 15 Age Divisions:
1st Place Men & Women $50 BIG 5 Sporting Goods gift card each
2nd Place Men & Women $25 BIG 5 Sporting Goods gift card each
Participants will compete in the following male and female age divisions:
Under 15, 16-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70-74, 75-79, 80 and over
Where do I wear my bib?
Bibs must be fastened to the front of your body on either your shirt or shorts/pants using the provided safety pins.

Where do I park on race day?
Parking information can be found on our Event Info page.
Will there be food/drinks available on the course? At the finish line?
There will be one aid station at the midpoint of the course. Water will be available at the Finish Line and other post-race refreshments will be available at the Finish Festival.
Are skates, bikes, or pets allowed on the course?
No skates, bikes or pets are allowed on the course.
