Los Angeles Marathon: Team Parkinson

John Ball was 36 years old when he was diagnosed with Parkinson’s Disease. More than a decade later, he ran his first Los Angeles Marathon in four hours at the age of 50. Inspired by the effects of exercise to slow the progression of Parkinson’s Disease, John began to encourage others to do the same with the creation of Team Parkinson. Now in his 70’s, and with his wife Edna by his side, John is the embodiment of the fighting spirit, leaving a legacy that will help shape the future of treatment. He gives hope to thousands facing the same daily struggle, all while leading a team that has raised millions for research in the process.
